The CW’s hit action/adventure series Nikita will make its Blu-ray debut when Warner Home Video releases Nikita: The Complete First Season on August 30th. The shows stars Maggie Q (Live Free and Die Hard) as a rogue spy who has escaped from a secret government agency that recruits isolated youth.
The series draws inspiration from Luc Besson’s 1990 action classic La Femme Nikita, as well as the Canadian TV series of the same name that ran from 1997 until 2001. Shane West (A Walk to Remember), Lyndsy Fonseca (Desperate Housewives) and Aaron Stanford (X2: X-Men United) also star in the updated version of the show.
Nikita’s 22 episodes will be spread across four BD-50 discs and will feature Dolby Surround 5.1 audio. A SRP of $69.97 has been set for this release. Extras for The Complete First Season will include:
Inside Division, Part 1: The New Nikita: Featurette that documents which elements of the previous versions of La Femme Nikita were kept and what twists and changes were added to re-invent the show.
Inside Division, Part 2: Executing an Episode: Featurette that uncovers how the sets, costumes, weapons, lighting, editing and music were fashioned to create a new vision for Nikita.
Profiling Nikita, Alex, Percy & Michael: Profiles the characters of the show played by Maggie Q, Lyndsy Fonseca, Xander Berkeley and Shane West.
Division Tracker (Blu-ray Exclusive): “Hack into Division and uncover a global tracking device designed to record every major character’s move throughout the years. Can you predict Nikita’s future by discovering her past?”
